If you're always looking for somewhere new to play with your little ones — especially a place designed with all children in mind — there's a special spot tucked into Carolina Park that Charleston-area parents should know about.
AllwonderBILITY is an inclusive indoor developmental play space, sensory gym and pediatric therapy center in Mount Pleasant created for children ages 0–8. But what makes this place especially cool? It was intentionally designed so children with different abilities can play, explore and grow alongside one another.
Founded by pediatric physical therapist Dr. Alex Verissimo and her husband, Michael, AllwonderBILITY combines their passions for child development, movement and creating a community where every child feels like they belong.
More Than an Indoor Playground
Inside, kids can climb, jump, create, explore and get those wiggles out with features including obstacle courses, sensory-friendly equipment, a trampoline room, art and sensory areas, motor-development zones and an accessible play fort.
Accessibility is built right into the fun, too, with features such as grab bars, transfer benches, accessible flooring and a lower-height ball pit.
And here's what we love: You don't have to be receiving therapy or have a diagnosis to play here.
AllwonderBILITY is designed for ALL wonderfully made kids.
Play, Classes, Therapy & More
Families can choose from open-play sessions, special toddler hours, therapist-designed developmental classes and enrichment labs. AllwonderBILITY also offers pediatric physical, occupational and speech therapy for families who need those services.
And yes — they do birthday parties, too!
Whether your child wants to climb and explore, could benefit from a sensory-friendly environment, or you're simply looking for a different indoor adventure around Charleston, this is one Mount Pleasant spot worth adding to your family's list.
